LSF has been awarded a contract through the Healthy Start Coalition (HSC) of Hillsborough County to provide care coordination and intensive home visitation services with the provision of the Healthy Start Prenatal and Infant Pathways, Inter-conception Care Counseling, and utilization of screening tools to identify specific risk factors including maternal depression, domestic/intimate partner violence, tobacco use, substance use, and infant development. The goals of the Healthy Start program are to reduce infant mortality and morbidity, improve pregnancy outcomes, reduce maternal morbidity, and enhance the health and development of children.

Healthy Start is a natural fit within LSF’s Family Focus programs, which aim to strengthen and support families at every stage of life. By addressing critical early childhood and maternal health needs, Healthy Start ensures that families receive essential care from the moment of pregnancy through the first critical years of a child’s life. This partnership aligns with LSF’s mission of providing comprehensive care for vulnerable populations, offering a continuum of services that promote not only the physical well-being of children but also the overall health and stability of families. Through programs like Healthy Start, LSF extends its commitment to early intervention and preventive care, equipping families with the tools they need to thrive.
